Happy New Year!
May this new year bring you prosperity and good health and fortunes.
I think this is an appropriate time for an old Irish toast I love-
Here's to me,
Here's to you,
Here's to love and laughter.
I'll be true,
As long as you,
But not one moment after.......
Happy New Year everyone!

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas from the Lone Star State!
We had a great Christmas here, we had a relaxing Christmas eve followed by a supercharged Christmas day as we drove to my hometown and celebrated with the family.
I received a lot of presents that I loved, and I look forward to wearing them, listening to them, cooking on them, and looking at them for years to come.
Can you guess what they are?
Haha!

Santa Sighting!
Last night we are driving down the service road of Hwy 121 and traffic started to build up. Up ahead was a police car in the middle lane, and in front of it was a small passenger truck where the entire engine seemed to have just dropped out from underneath it.
As we got closer, we noticed the driver talking to the policeman as they looked underneath the truck.
The driver- Santa Claus!
Unfortunately I couldn't safely get a picture of the odd spectacle.

Annie's Home!

After a month long trip to the Philippines, Annie Lou has finally made it home. As soon as we arrived she hit the pillow and she was out cold. It is an exhausting trip. The journey home consisted of four airports in three countries, over 14 time zones and one day backwards, all over a 23 hour period.
I've always believed the trip back to the USA was worse than the one going over to the Philippines. Leaving in the A.M. here, when you arrive in the A.M. the next day there you have to fast forward you clock 14 hours, so it ends up being late evening, just before midnight. So when you get out of the airport and to your destination, its easy to lay down for several hours and sleep, then get up in time for the morning in your new time zone.
But on the way back, at the end of that 23 hour journey, according to the clocks you've only been in the air for about 8 hours. She departed Manila at 6:25 A.M. and arrived 23 hours later at 2:21 P.M.- all the same calendar day.
One odd note about it as well, is when you travel to the Philippines via Japan, they are an hour ahead of the Philippines. So when you go from the USA to Japan, you land there in a time zone 15 hours ahead. But then you return and travel southeast back towards the USA and land in the Philippines which is just 14 hours ahead.
What is the most time zones you have crossed? How long did you stay? Which was worse, the trip there or the trip home? And was the place you were traveling to ahead or behind you in the time zones?
