Fredericksburg, Texas

Fredericksburg is the county seat of Gillespie County and is located about 70 miles west of Austin in what Texans refer to as "hill country".

For over 150 years, this German heritage city has provided Texas charm to it's residents and visitors. It's a great place to get away for a romantic weekend, to hike, or to have a corporate gathering that is far from the big city noise and stress.

Fredericksburg offers a nice variety of bed and breakfast inns to stay at while there, but one of the biggest attractions is Luckenbach, Texas. The crazy activities that go on there delight visitors as they watch armadillo races, washer pitchin', dominoes, and a game of horseshoes. You'll learn why they say "everybody's somebody in Luckenbach, Texas".

Time your visit right, on the third weekend in August, and you can visit the exciting Gillespie County Fair while you are there.

Fredericksburg is a small city with big charm and with it's close proximity to Austin, but distance from the "big city", it makes it a great place to visit or live.

Tacoma Lawyer

Whether or not you are traveling in Texas or Tacoma, if you have a traffic accident, you’ll want to contact an attorney who will have your best interest at heart. The insurance company sure doesn’t, they want to save money and deny you your rights and not compensate you for everything. So if you are in Tacoma and this happens, you need a good Tacoma car accident lawyer to look out for you.

Sea World

Sea World is by far one of our family's favorite destinations for a summer vacation. They sell two day tickets- and its a good thing because it takes at least two days to experience all the park has to offer.

There are a variety of shows to see. The Rockin' Ski Party is a delightful event with plenty of high flying action. There's Sea Lions as well, and of course the most famous all all Killer Whales!

Inside the park is a large waterpark to help guests cool off and give the kids yet another place to burn off some energy.

Visit the Sea World website today for more information.

Construction Site

This is a fence on a construction site in The Colony, Texas (USA). It is made from a stretchy plastic and surrounds the recent landscaping of this brand new, vacant building. There wasn't enough progress to tell what would be put on the landscape. I will have to return one day to find out- to see if whatever is put there is enough to prevent cars from driving through, or whether another, permanent fence will be put in this one's place.

JC Penny Texas Longhorn Display

Well, its college football time of year again, and even up here in the Metroplex most people are avid University of Texas (Austin) fans. My dad was one of the biggest. One of the last conversations I had with him last November before he died was about the Longhorns. On November 3rd Texas had won against Oklahoma State in a close, high scoring game. Then, just two days before he passed away, they beat Texas Tech in an even higher scoring game- 59 to 43.

Growing up everything football was about the Longhorns. We watched the Dallas Cowboys each Sunday as well, but the highlight of the weekend was the Texas Longhorn games. To this day we still have a record (you read that correctly, a "record") of the Texas fight song along with several other songs by the band and some commentary from announcers. If memory serves me correctly, I believe its from the late 60's, maybe early 70's.

My mother tells a story from when I was about six years old and they invited the preacher over for Sunday lunch. It was decided I would say the prayer, and so I did. But instead of an "Amen" at the end, the preacher got to hear, "Hookem' Horns!". Luckily he thought it was cute- but my mother was not so amused.....

This display caught my attention as soon as we walked in to Penny's and brings back some wonderful memories.

Swing Sets

One of the worst, but one of the best, things about Texas is the hot summers. While the heat can make you miserable, if you take advantage of the fun stuff outdoors you’ll not hardly notice it and have a great time. One thing that is fun for your kids is outdoor toys, such as swimming pools and swing sets. Visit today to order and get the best price for the best toys for this summer’s fun.
