Texas Missions Around El Paso

There are only three missions in the El Paso area because of the shift in the banks of the Rio Grande River. Ysleta and Socorro Missions and The San Elizario presidio chapel remain today.

Javelina

The Collared Peccary, or more commonly called the Javelina, lives in the Texas brush of the Central Grasslands.

A Javelina is a piglike animal with many of the same features as a pig. It has a large head with a long snout and stiff hair . Its hind foot has three toes rather than four.
