Texas Superstitions

Texas is no different than other places, which means we have our own superstitions and old wives tales that are passed down from generation to generation. Here are a few-

Tickling a baby's feet will make him stammer.

To cure a sore throat, tie your dirty sock around your neck.

If a man puts a dime in his shoe when he gets married, he will always have money.

Sweep under a sick person's bed and he will die.

If a turtle bites you he will not turn loose till it thunders.

An ulcer on the tongue means you told a lie.

If you do not put your tongue in the space after a tooth is pulled, you will get money.

If a woman sleeps with wedding cake under her pillow she will get married.
