A short time ago, people in Wise County thought the had caught a chupacabra, a legendary creature of Mexico who is believed to suck blood from livestock.

A small hairless animal was found dead at a golf course near Bridgeport. Texas has always been the leader in sightings of the creature. In 2004 one was reported seen in the San Antonio region, in 2005 several were spotted in the same area.

Then in 2007 some were killed in Cuero. Tests showed that the dead animals were coyotes with mange. The officials in Wise County say this latest sighting was not a coyote but a young raccoon. Why he had no hair is not evident but he could have fallen into a nearby lake during freezing weather and the extreme cold could have caused his hair to fall out.
